The BLACK DRAGON was built for Black Dragon Cruises of Port Isabel, South Padre Island, Texas. We modeled the vessel as composite of 17th century frigates and included just enough rigging to make it look like a real sailing ship. The boat has become a major tourist attraction at Pirates Landing in Port Isabel. Equipped with co-2 cannons and cannon fire sound tracks the crew daily entertain tourists with staged pirate battles. Coastal Living rated BLACK DRAGON one of the 10 best sunset cruises in the country. This vessel has proven to be a dependable boat that is economical to operate and maintain. Those are very important considerations when choosing a design.
Another important consideration is that a pirate theme boat has to really look like a pirate ship. Every kid has seen Pirates of the Caribbean and knows what a pirate ship is supposed to look like. The BLACK DRAGON and BLACK RAVEN as well as the other pirate ships we have designed look the part. When kids see them they immediately start bugging their parents to go on the pirate ship. The boats also need to be colorful after all fun pirates should have colorful ships. This is entertainment you know.

The BLACK RAVEN is a near sister to BLACK DRAGON. In fact, these two boats were built alongside each other, although the BLACK RAVEN was launched about 6 months after BLACK DRAGON.
BLACK RAVEN was built a little shorter overall at 72' due to the owners dock considerations. BLACK RAVEN operates out of St. Augustine, Florida, near the Lions bridge. Black Raven Adventures offers a wide range of exciting entertainment venues.
